Hi All
The weather was kind to us today so I was able to get the birds up the road for a trainer.
I took them 30 miles and liberated in batches cocks from loft 1 first 5 minutes after the cocks from loft 2 then 15 minutes later the hens from loft 1 then 5 minutes after the hens from loft 2.
Weather permitting will do a 40 mile trainer tomorrow ready for race 1 at the weekend.

Hi All
AT LAST we had a decent bit of weather today so I got the birds down the road 25 miles.
I let Loft 1 hens go at 10.30 then the cocks from Loft 1 at 10.40
I then let the hens from Loft 2 go at 10.55 followed by the cocks at 11.05.
Result as usual in the training and racing link.

Hi All
The weather broke a bit yesterday and we managed to get a trainer in.
I drove them 15 mile by road and again they came home in small batches.
At the time of writing this I have just got another hen in GB11Z07634 bred by Trevor Benton, now this is a hen that raced the young bird programme last year with the final race being Poitiers 280 miles, there is no rhyme or reason as to why these birds are going astray.
As I said before this is why we have waited for the weather to warm up before we started them off,and it looks like we made the right decision by looking after the birds best interests and not racing the start of the season just for the sake of it.
Training result in the races and training link.
Thats about it for now.

Hi All
Again the weather is awful very cold and misty,we are still having to light the fire to keep warm!!
We had a nice day on Sunday so we got the birds basketed and I drove them 15 miles just to get them started and it has taken some of them 3 days to get back, our local clubs have had 3 races already with this last weekend from Ablis 131 miles and people have been almost wiped out with many losses.
I then spoke with the president of our International club yesterday from Bully-Les Mines and his club had a race from 60 miles he sent 18 and only got 1,now we are talking about experienced birds that have raced Pau,Barcelona etc,the only assumption we can make is the weather being far too cold, which is why we have not been prepared to throw your birds away by sending just for the sake of getting them into races as we care about the birds and will wait for suitable weather to move them.
That`s about all for Now

Hi All
The weather here is very strange at the moment,we have had glimpses of real summer weather and just when you think we will be able to start the birds off it changes and we have had rain and very cold frosts.
Our local club starts it`s race programme this weekend but we are not going to start them off yet as we will wait until the weather warms up.
We are not in a real hurry to get them going and do not want to lose them by pushing too early whilst the winds are so cold.
They are in excellent health and go out daily at their set times and once in are darkened off.
Will let you know once we srart training and racing.

Hi All
All the auction birds are now with their new owners they really were outstanding youngsters.I would like to thank Dave and Julie from UK Pigeon Couriers and all their team for the work they also do
I received an e-mail this morning from a fancier who had purchased youngsters thanking us for all our hard work and this too involved Uk Couriers as they are prompt and efficient with their deliveries and if birds are not going out the same day then Dave has individual pens now that they are put in overnight and looked after until he can get them out
All the babies were vaccinated ,cankered and ivomeced before leaving the lofts ,so lets hope they all go on to be big winners

We have been running the Barcelona Challenge for several years now and will continue to do so.This offers a great opportunity to all distance fanciers to test their pigeons in the world's greatest race from Barcelona, which to us is 625 miles to our lofts, and this event normally has around 26,000 birds competing. The last three years have been difficult but top class pigeons have come to the fore with Crammond and Langstaff winning the 2009 event with 'Barcelona Dream Girl', Ian Gill of Northern Ireland winning in 2010 with `Ian`s Boy' and John Tyerman in 2011 with 'Brackbay Barcelona'.
We have listened to your suggestions and John has agreed that anyone entering the Barcelona Challenge can ask for their yearlings to go to the Yearling International usually flown from Bordeaux, and then as two year old go to Barcelona and then later to Perpignan International. You can choose what programme and we will do our best to abide by your wishes. Again for this event we will accept entries on the £40 'perch fee' reservation, and after successful yb training the balance only becomes payable if your entry is still in the loft. (After training) For both events we will arrange collection dates from UK or bring your own yb's - you are welcome to come and see our' new loft set up' which is about a one hour drive from the ferry port of Calais.
Many of the UK's top racing lofts have birds with us, including Shackleton and Son/John Highley lst open NFC Tarbes, Crammond and Langstaff, who took the first four open positions in NFC, Jeremy Wright winner of MNFC, John Tyerman winner of CSCFC Tarbes, Brain Holland, Richard Howey, Albi and Jan Deacon, Joe and Kevin Murphy, Keith Mott, Bernard J Smyth, Ian Gill, plus many more top names
